Question: asked if they know the author of their article
Discussion: NOAA responded to my email saying that they do not attribute their stories to one particular author, but rather that their information is reputable since they are a United States government agency, everything on their website can be used by the public.
Conclusions: With this being said, their information, while not a primary source as there is no specific scientist associated with it, can be used in my research and background information.

Statistical Methods As this is a longitudinal study, many data sets over the years must be analyzed in order to prove or disprove the hypothesis. The 2017-2018 data set will be compared to the baseline data set that was compiled between 2016 and 2017. As the years progress and this project continues to be conducted, more and more data will be compiled, allowing the conclusions to the experiment to be backed by more data. Normal distribution will be used in order to see if there are any outliers in the data, or any unusually high or low counts. These outliers have the potential to throw off the data analysis. Standard deviation and variance alike will be useful when determining either the spread or the closeness of the data points. A higher standard deviation means that there is more spread among the data, decreasing the potential for correlation among the data set. Log Entry 10/31

What I've Done I have continued to write my annotated bibliography paragraphs. Plans for Today I will research for more primary sources and continue to work towards my 40 annotated bibliography sources (not due until November 6). I will also continue to prepare for my presentation on November 2. Plans for the Future I will practice my presentation and find more primary sources.

4/10 Log Entry

What I've Done I presented my formal progress update for the third marking period. I also began my discussion yesterday and emailed both my discussion and results portion of my scientific research paper to my mentor, Mrs. Zrada, to be revised. Plans for Today I plan to use Mrs. Zrada's corrections to tweak my results and discussion sections to be more accurate and professional-sounding. After I make the necessary corrections, I will hand in my abstract, results, and discussion, as they are all due today, 10 April. Plans for the Future I will begin working on my marking period four work once I receive the syllabus for the quarter.
